This was the inaugural year of the virtual Science Fiction and Fantasy Convention hosted by Amy (A.K.) Duboff. The goal of the con was to bring creatives and fans together to talk about all things sci-fi and fantasy.
I was super excited to be a part of this event for a number of reasons. Let me tell you exactly why I became a part of this amazing event.
Two very simple reasons:
I love science fiction.
I love fantasy.
It was well worth it too.
The convention had two tracks: Genre and Creative.
Genre sessions were put together with the fans in mind. A place where those who read and watch can talk with creatives about their favorite tropes in science fiction and fantasy.
The Creative sessions were focused on writer’s and creatives in the SFF genre. Everything from lessons on craft to marketing tips.
Since the entire con is free and recorded it gives a lot of scope for what they can do in the future. I don’t pretend to predict the future around here but it’s very likely that in-person events will be slow to roll out even what’s we’re clear of immediate COVID-19 danger.
Virtual events like this one are currently doing what they can to take the place of events we used to attend in person. Don’t believe me?

Will you be there live next year? You don’t want to miss it.
